Collagen drinks, skin vitamins, H₂O – when it comes to my skin I have it down to a science. My morning routine takes about 10 minutes, with my nightly routine being 20 minutes. I first cleanse and then apply wrapped ice cubes to refresh my skin while shrinking pores and improving blood circulation. I follow up with a toner, serum, moisturizer and eye cream.
Scanning the shelves for endless products and brands with innovative scientific ingredients can be a challenge. Will this actually get rid of my wrinkles? Is this worth the splurge? Will I look younger? These are the questions we ask ourselves. I’m the girl you find at the beauty bar trying the next best thing. Anything for tightening and hydrating!
From masks to creams, there are a range of items for your skin. I’ve tried a number of beauty must-haves and carefully considered quality. See my list of favorite products that will help you get dewy and luminous skin.
Effortlessly create the look of radiant, supple skin on the go with a travel size tube of liquid glow from Anastasia Beverly Hills. It perfectly blends with your favorite complexion products. I love layering it with Anastasia’s Glow Kit for a high-impact gleam.
This bronzing powder from Tom Ford Beauty creates sunkissed skin by highlighting your natural radiance or accents an existing tan. I love dusting a little bit of this product on my cheekbones to emphasize my bone structure.
Bronzing is easy with the face and body gradual tan from La Mer. I recommend this product for anyone who is hesitant to use a self-tanner. This quick-absorbing, refreshing lotion is gentle and promises no streaks.
From the Alpine glaciers comes Valmont’s Prime Renewing Pack. This mask instantly smooths and relaxes the face, while tightening the pores – no rinsing is needed. Based in Switzerland, Valmont has been preserving the expertise of Swiss cellular cosmetics. Their unique extraction process strengthens and stimulates cells, revealing youthful and radiant skin.
I was intrigued from the moment I saw the packaging and this waterless mask from Nannette de Gaspé. It frames your face with holes that wrap around your ears – no sticky mess. I like to rub my hands over the mask in a circular motion to warm up my skin for a few minutes. The mask’s ingredients embedded in the fabric are activated by humidity, body temperature or pH. The hydrating formula stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin, visibly tightening the skin and reducing the depth of wrinkles. Even better, this mask can be used up to three times, just fold and place back in the pouch so it stays completely dry.
Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Hyaluronic Serum is a miracle worker. Just one drop instantly boosts, firms and hydrates your face. I love adding a few drops when I’ve been traveling on a plane – this product is a great pick-me-up when your complexion is exposed to different environments – like being in an air-conditioned place too long.
A quick-fix on the go, this two-step process from Juice Beauty will revive, brighten and dramatically transform your eyes’ appearance in 10 minutes. Place the drops of STEM CELLULAR™ Activator Fluid on the algae biomatrix masks which activates antioxidants and nutrients that result in reduced puffiness, wrinkles and appearance of fine lines. Pressed algae provides great skincare benefits and I prefer these over cotton masks which can be processed with harsh chemicals.
The Lancer Legacy Eye Treatment Duo comes with two triple rollerball applicators that are targeted to brighten, firm, hydrate and smooth the eye area day and night. I love the feeling of the cooling hydration around my eyes to start my morning. The Day pen, which I keep in the refrigerator, instantly provides a fresh feeling. The formula is infused with micro-algae and crushed white pearls- reducing puffiness and dark circles. The Night pen is formulated with Dr. Lancer’s Youth GF Complex and crushed black pearls to reduce the look of fine lines. I also apply the Night pen to my eyelid in a circular motion to help firm the skin.
This has to be one of my best finds. Enter a tranquil and intoxicating state with May Lindstrom Skin’s The Blue Cocoon. This facial oil comes in a clean and minimal package as a waterless and waxless balm form. I apply it to my damp skin which instantly feels heavenly and hydrated when the product is melted. With lavender, rose geranium, and frankincense, there’s also an aromatherapy element for relieving anxiety and tension. Beauty pros also love using this product for a lip treatment or organic eye shine.
Every morning and night I apply a couple drop of La Mer’s The Concentrate. It’s light, fluid and absorbs quickly into the skin. It relieves redness overnight and is great for healing any acne scars.
Mixing up my products is what works for me. Lancer’s The Method: Nourish is formulated with Dr. Lancer’s recipe, including nutrients and antioxidants, for younger-looking skin. This moisturizer is hydrating and gives a glowing effect.
When I get home from a long day, I can’t wait to take off my makeup with Bioderma Sensibio H₂O. I was first introduced to this product while in Paris many years ago shopping at the pharmacy. At that point, I purchased 10 bottles and brought it back to the states. It’s a non-rinse cleanser that’s great for removing your face and eye makeup without irritation. The company claims a bottle is sold somewhere in the world once every two seconds, so it’s no wonder people are trying to get their hands on it. It’s a cult-favorite and a staple of makeup artists. If you’ve been following trends, you know that Micellar water is an increasingly popular skincare product that acts as a cleanser, moisturizer and makeup remover. This French Micellar water feels more soft, silky and luxurious than others I’ve tried. It even comes in a travel size.
These award-winning, individually-wrapped bamboo face wipes not only smell amazing, but are an instant moisture wipe. From Ursa Major, they cleanse, exfoliate, soothe and hydrate your skin. I seriously can’t leave home without one. I use them to take my makeup off or a quick wipe when I’m traveling, especially as part of my in-flight routine. The bag has 20 face wipes made with 100% bamboo fiber towelettes moistened with Ursa’s four-in-one face tonic. You can’t beat the fresh scent and benefits.
The Lancer Method is definitely an investment in your skin. The first step in the method, Lancer The Method: Polish, is a powerful anti-aging exfoliator made with enzymes from pumpkins and pomegranates to remove dry surface cells and debris. With a lovely lavender scent, this product is part of my daily ritual. This polish lasts for months and a little definitely goes a long way.
100% Pure makes the ultimate organic cleaner. At times, I like to use a cleanser with a coconut oil base. If you love coconut oil as a product, then this is the face wash for you. The gentle and creamy formula is made with coconut milk, moisturizing coconut oil, hydrating coconut water and intoxicating vanilla bean. My skin feels soft and noticeably more hydrated after I use it.
With a powerful blend of ingredients, the Omorovicza Body Cream protects skin from the environmental damage as our skin texture changes. The special formula penetrates deep into the skin to moisturize and boost collagen and elastin.
The Eau Thermale Avène Skin Recovery Cream is a pharmacy secret. This moisturizer is for sensitive or aggravated skin. The gentle formula made with glycerin, mineral oil and squalane helps restore the lipid layer of your skin. It’s great after a laser treatment or chemical peel, or after you’ve been exposed to harsh weather.
While coconut oil benefits have been trending, I always keep a bottle in my bathroom, using it for my hair and body. It’s nothing new for the beauty industry. The rich scent of Monoi sends you on vacation. The original Monoi Tiare Tahiti Coconut Oil is made by extracting the fragrance from dried Tiara flowers after soaking in the oil. A dried Tiare flower is placed in each Monoi bottle to show this product is the only one made using the ancient Polynesian method.
